How to Get Better In Basketball Rebounding
0Rebounding is a crucial skill in a basketball game because it helps to give the team a chance for possession, whether the rebound was made offensively or defensively. It is just sad to see that many simply overlook this aspect and expect rebounding to be an innate talent and not as a skill that can be developed. In fact, some even claim that rebounding is due to luck, especially if the ball finds its way into their direction. There are some that even think that rebounding is not their responsibility on the court because they hold a different position. The truth is rebounding is a task for every player, especially if they are in a position to acquire a rebound.

There are players who are innately talented when it comes to rebounding. However, every player also needs to understand that you can get better in basketball rebounding by following the steps talented rebounders do:
Chase the Ball – when you see the ball in mid-flight, you should try to chase it aggressively into the ring in case the shot is missed.
Get Into Position – if you are able to establish a good position in case the shot is missed, it is likely that you will be able to get a good rebounding opportunity. This makes having a good judgment on where the ball will bounce off to critical to be able to establish the right rebounding position.
Box Out Other Rebounders – good rebounders will likely have the same thought on where the good rebounding position is for the missed shot. Being able to give a good box out on your fellow rebounder ensures you possession of the rebound.
Timing – even if you can jump high, timing is very crucial when rebounding the ball as jumping in too early to get the ball after a missed shot means there is a high chance that you won’t get the rebound. It is important to judge how high you can jump. You need to assess that during the peak of your jump that this will be the likely position of the ball to help ensure you of a possession.
Protect the Ball – this is also very important as you would not want your opponents to tip and steal the ball from your grasp after a good rebound. You can protect the ball simply by hugging the ball close to your body.

How to Increase Your 3-Point Accuracy
0Any shot made within the 3-point arc is only worth two points regardless of how difficult it is. However, if a shot is made outside of the 3-point arc, the shot is worth 3 points. This makes the ability of shooting 3-point shots accurately highly regarded, especially when the game is tight as 3-point field goals can often make the difference between winning and losing.

If you want to excel in shooting long range shots, more specifically 3 point shots, a basketball player needs to have good shooting fundamentals. This involves having good shooting form and rhythm. Shooting a 3-point shot is very similar to how you normally shoot. The only problem is the distance involved as you still need to have good strength, trajectory, and accuracy to make the shot.
In order to get better in shooting 3-point field goals, it is essential that you practice a lot. If you cannot make any shots, it is suggested that you practice shooting from a nearer distance to the basket first, say from the free throw lane. Try practicing making hundreds to thousands of shots until you no longer miss from that distance. Once you have perfected your shot from that distance, try taking a step backwards and practice your shots again until you perfect them. Do these until you reach the 3-point arc and practice making your shots from there.
After having perfected your shooting accuracy and the strength it takes to make the shot, try making the 3-point shot from different sides of the court. If you are able to make at least 6 out of 10 3-point shots, you will likely be an asset to your team and a threat to your opponents. This mean you will be defended from whenever you have possession of the ball. In this case, you need to practice making your 3-point shots when being defended. If you practice getting enough separation from your defender and be able to execute your shot accurately, you will without doubt be an explosive scorer for your team.
